Staffer: Good morning, Senator Allen's office
Caller: Yes I'm calling to see if the senator supports traditional marriage.
Staffer: Yes he does, he supports the bill.
Caller: Okay, and he's divorced?
Staffer: Uh (uncomfortably) yes sir.
Caller: Yes, okay,
Staffer: ...but he's remarried.
Caller: What was the cause of his divorce? Do you know the reason? Is his wife remarried?
Staffer: I don't know, it was a long time ago sir.
Caller: Okay, could you tell me if the senator masturbates?
Staffer: I'm sorry, I can't answer these questions.
Caller: Can you tell me, do you masturbate?

This is a perfectly valid question given the GOP's desire to debate gay marriage on the grounds that 1) it somehow undermines heterosexual marriage, and 2) The Bible frowns on it.

On that second point...

Republican moralist Kay Bailey Hutchison says "no Christian" believes everything they read in the Bible. While this may come as a surpise to the "many Christians" who believe eveything they read in the Bible, according to Republican moralist Kay Bailey Hutchison, a woman who is divorced and then remarries is NOT an adulteress.

This is convenient for Ms. Bailey Hutchison since she is, in fact, divorced and remarried.
