IN YOUR FACE DELATHOUGHT !!!

ANTI-INCUMBENCY SPELLS BIG GAINS FOR DEMS IN PA!

Tommywonk has a great post on the PA primaries full of linky goodness. Here is the money:

Philly.com has a list of thirteen legislative incumbents who lost their primary elections yesterday. The list includes the top two Republicans in the state Senate, who lost because of anger over last year's midnight pay raise:

Senate President Pro Tempore Robert C. Jubelirer (R., Blair) and Majority Leader David J. Brightbill (R., Lebanon) - who together have served 56 years in the Senate - were defeated in two of the most costly legislative races in history.

As John Baer writes, "They are the first Pennsylvania legislative leaders to lose a primary election since 1964." These defeats presage trouble for incumbent legislators in November.

In another sign of a shakeup in PA politics, a Democrat won a special election to the state Senate in overwhelmingly Republican Chester County: Andrew Dinniman has defeated Republican Carol Aichele to become the first Democratic state senator from Chester County in memory.

Be afraid, GOP zombies. Be very afraid.

It is clear that voters associate "greedy career politicians" and "the culture of arrogance and greed" that marks our current political climate with REPUBLICANS. If you ask me, you have George Bush to thank for destroying your party.

Comments:
Overall 10 out of the 13 defeated incumbents were republicans. 77% not too shabby.

Jason, PA politics is its own animal. This had everything to do with the pay raises and not dealing with property taxes, and little, if anything to do with Bush.

Ryan,

Keep whistling in the dark my man. BTW, how'd that meeting with the recruiter go?

Hube,

What's "anti-incubency"? That would be a typo. Thanks for dropping in.

Please write a cute retort to me too that has nothing to do with my point.

Your fly is open.

( Made you look ! )

It was a primary, stupid. No party gained anything, except for the one special election.

Please reread my response to Ryan. If you don't think TWO top R's in the state senate being tossed out on thier ass bodes ill for R's in general - good for the forces of goodness and the American way.

DT, I win this one. You've won a few and I (almost) always say so. But I win this one.

You know full well that the loss of R'S helps the D's. For one thing the D's will not me facing entrenched incumbents with the huge advantages that go along with that. I could go on, party in dissaray, etc, Santorum, AND most importantly, I DID make you look !

Stingy.

Jason,
DT is a tough nut. He really likes to stick to his RNC talking points!!!

PA incumbency was slain at the GOPer top and that animal has a contagious attitude that just may sweep in to the "lower three" counties of DE!

But if it works, it will definitely result in GOP majorities in both houses.

I'm not a betting man, but I'll buy you a beer if that comes to pass. I, for one, will be in need of a beer.

Duh, DT duh duh duh, that you are a GOPerhole makes you project your paranoid versions of other's POV.

I target whomever is symying best government practice in the state.....I am also a liberal....I keep the two separated unlike you seem to be able to manage.

Lets see, the top leadership in the PA legis got slain: fact.

Not a slanted bit of non-fact, opinion or otherwise bias about it.

Again duh duh duh.

There are top PA DEMS who did not go down in the primary round in PA and I will be sending empathy vibes for a sweep by the GOPer rivals for my PA cleansweep breathren.

I know that my writing style has you flustered more often than not but I still maintain that I speak in plain English!!

And you take sides with a ferocity when you think your GOPer idealology is challenged and seemingly in general when GOPer leadership is challenged.

I do not have an inner protectionist stand for DEM leadership.

Do the job and serve the public and you get my vote, period.

DT, I know that you are down on somw of the dinosaurs in the GOP in DE but you do take an unreasoned stance at times and you do project your predjudices.
