I agree... Delaware Democrats have provided enough ammo that a halfway competent GOP should be able to kick them out of many offices. Just speculating, I guess Delaware Dems are benefiting from Delaware voter revulsion against the national GOP. I guess northern Del. is just packed with bedrock Dem voters - union types, inner-city folks, and deeply blue, well-educated professionals.

Hell, I don't even know the difference between a Delaware Democrat and a Delaware Republican anymore.

When you have Biden and Carper sticking up for Credit Card banks at the expense of the middle class it does not help. But we also have great Dems like Jack Markell and Matt Denn. They are real Dems.

I know we have some bad apples (in NCC), but like I said, I think the party is reformable.
 

You forgot to mention the hotbed of apathy that is the Governor's office.

I'm counting on the next-gen Democrats to fly right and clean things up in the party.

My only beef with Markell is that he did not pull a Carper and go after Castle. (JACK - if you are lurking - YOU COULD WIN - THERE IS STILL TIME.)

Deep breath.... He could win it this year with the GOP sucking, and every dem in the state spoiling to vote against Bush one more time. He'd be a hero for trying, and would still have his governorship if he lost.
 

There's also a very good chance he won't beat Ol' Seventy Percent, and then he'd go into the governor race fresh from defeat and with an empty wallet.
 

Hotbed of apathy is a good tag line.

A few folks are starting a Beat the Incumbents web site fashioned after some sites of successful PA grassroots activists. PA severed the career of a judge this year (boy do we Delawareans wish we had that power).

We are looking to put the people back in control and upset the special interest ties rooted to the multi-termers in Dover and the county and city halls.

Our site, decleansweep, is coming online ASAP. We will post the "family trees of which pols have what family employed where in government or "connected jobs" like DE Park.

We will post the legis jobs and the "connected funding" their jobs enjoy like TMA and DSC.

We will have federal, state, county and local voting records and links to campaign fund reports.

And we will have links to orgs who want to help bring alternative candidates to the debate and hopefully win the seats of any officeholders who have not voted for the best interests of our general welfare like the deregulation of Delmarva.

Very ambitious. I know you think of me as blindly partisan, but I've often said that Delaware is a one party state, and that party is the "Incumbent Party".

Sometimes they let in a new member like Matt Denn, but I chalk up things like Markell taking a pass on Castle to his faith in the one party system.
