Q: Why are Democrats constantly out maneuvered by Republicans?

A: Republicans cheat.

GOP website appears to flout law, lists nonpartisan, nonprofit groups as supporters

It's an open secret in Washington: Nonprofit doesn't always mean nonpartisan.

But RAW STORY has found that the Republican National Committee lists a panoply of conservative nonprofits as "GOP groups"--in direct violation of the nonprofit charter.

..........................................................

This is more evidence that if Dems always seem like they have one hand tied behind their back it is because they feel constrained by old fashioned things like "laws", "rules" and "ethics".

Comments:
Not to mention the GOP is now openly soliciting the support of churches, and the churches are openly giving it.

Just what the founding fathers imagined.

I suppose a few ethical Republicans still exists somewhere, but the overall Republican culture seems to have fully embraced an "the ends justify's the means" mentality.

Everything is okay provided it helps consolidate power in the hands of the RNC.

Vigilant adherence to the rule of law strengthens our democracy and strengthens America. It ensures that those who govern us operate within our constitutional structure, which means that our democratic institutions play their indispensable role in shaping policy and determining the direction of our nation. It means that the people of this nation ultimately determine its course and not executive officials operating in secret without constraint.

Actually, both sides cheat. You do it and lose. We do it and win.

Thanks for the clear thinking on that. You must be known as "the smart one" among the idiots you hang with.

You are talking about a few isolated cases.

On the republican side we see a whole organizational culture that seems to have fully embraced an "the ends justify's the means" mentality.

Please. It's a majority thing. When the Democrats were in power, they were corrupted. Now that the GOP's in power, they've been corrupted.

I agree absolutely. But, there's something about the current scandal that seems deeper and wider. I'll withhold my own final judgment until more info comes out under oath. But this one just smells different.
