Christmas came early for John Jaremchuck who now gets to paint himself as the victim of " "raw politics at its worst".
Elsmere Councilman John Jaremchuk expected criticism when he began his campaign for state office on the same anti-illegal immigration platform that put him in so much hot water with the town last year. Translation: As a guy running for state rep he needs to get his name in the paper like fish needs to get in water. RAM, as if she is working for him, tosses this softball:
Days after he announced his candidacy for state representative of the 13th District, Jaremchuk, a Republican, received a four-sentence letter from Gov. Ruth Ann Minner. It said she was removing him from the Little Mill Flood Abatement Committee, on which he had served since 1989. (snip)
"Because the appointments to that committee were more than 15 years old, the governor thought it was time for a fresh perspective," she said. "And the members of the committee do serve at the pleasure of the governor."
Bailey said Minner chose Mitchell because she was "looking for someone who was qualified."
