Joe Biden should name names!

Which GOP Senators are putting loyalty to the RNC above loyalty to the country?

Joe Biden is the ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. Today he said that that two other Senate Republicans have told him they'll break with the White House Iraq strategy. BUT not until after the November elections.

"Two leading Republican Senators have come to me," Biden recalled, and said that after the election "the need to protect the president will be nonexistent" and Republicans will be freer to break with the White House and call for change in Iraq.

This is the essence of Republicanism. Cover for the President and his FUBAR war, stab our fighting men in the back and after the elections say "who me?".

This comment from an Eschatonian sums it up:

Memo to the troops: The GOP cares about you, just not as much as they care about covering Bush's ass.

-Via Eschaton.

Comments:
yup, old Joe is at it again.
James Baker was supposed to be on The Daily Show tonight so he must be back from Iraq.
He had been charged by some act of congress to go to Baghdad and figure out how to cut and run without harming Rummy or the GOP.
He came up with the Biden plan and has been touting that, making noises about how he will recommend that the US not stay the course as prescribed by Bush.
He co-opted the Biden strategy of three federated sections with a weak central government to divy the assets (oil).

He had been charged by some act of congress to go to Baghdad and figure out how to cut and run without harming Rummy or the GOP.

The truth of that sentence rings like a bell.
